INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD

Dear Parents

Greetings

LITTLE GIRLS WITH DREAMS BECOME WOMEN WITH VISION, SO LET THEM DREAM AND LET THEIR VISION ENRICH OUR WORLD.

International Day of the Girl Child is a United Nations’ designated day, observed every year on October 11. This year the theme of International Day of the Girl Child is “My voice, our equal future”. The theme focuses on how girls globally are leading the way.

‘The Day of the Girl Child’ is also significant as the ‘Generation Equality’ campaign has been launched. It is a “multi-year, multi-partner campaign and movement for bold action on gender equality”. Girls worldwide are demanding a life free from gender-based violence, access to health, skills, recognition and investment as leaders of social change. The International Day of the Girl Child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges, the girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfilment of their human rights.

In a pandemic year, a clear agenda and multi-pronged approach is essential to look after the needs and opportunities of girls.

RKS believes that girls have the right to a safe, educated, and healthy life, not only during their formative years, but also as they mature into women. If effectively supported, girls have the potential to change the world – both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow’s workers, entrepreneurs, mentors, household heads, political leaders and mothers.

To mark the importance of the girls and women, RKS has organised certain activities. Students of different class-clusters should go through the following activities and participate whole-heartedly.
