The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
It is truly said that elders are the backbone of our society and it is always a blessing to gain invaluable knowledge from elderly people. When grace is joined with wrinkles, it is adorable. There is unspeakable dawn at a happy old age. Elders are the precious gems of a family. Their experience and knowledge spill the words of wisdom and captivate the children with their love and concern.
Elders are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a legacy, and the keepers of tradition. They are the family’s close foundation. Through their special love and care, they keep a family close at heart.
In order to inculcate feelings of love and care amongst students towards the elderly, Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School celebrated the “International Day of Elderly” through a virtual platform. The main aim of the celebration was to make students understand the importance of elders in our lives. Students were told about all the contributions that older people make to society and raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges of ageing in today’s world.
Celebrations commenced with the small acts shown by the tiny tots of class 2 wherein they all beautifully expressed their love and respect to the elders specially grandparents by spending time with them, by giving gifts to them, by playing with them, and making them feel special and also making them realize how important they are in their kids’ lives.
Many students also visited old age homes and shared their experiences with their class teachers during their virtual class.
