Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School virtually celebrated Basant Panchami on 5th February 2022

Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture, and tradition. They are meant to rejoice special moments and emotions in our lives with our loved ones.

Basant Panchami marks the beginning of the spring season. The festival of spring is celebrated with full vivacity and joy amongst the Hindus. In the Hindi language, the word ‘Basant’ means spring, and ‘Panchami’ means the fifth day. In short, Basant Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of the Spring Season. Basant Panchami falls on the fifth day of the Indian month, Magh (January-February). This festival is also known as Saraswati Puja.

Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School celebrated this day with great fervor and enthusiasm. To commemorate this auspicious day, the school organized various activities through a virtual platform.

To commence the celebrations, Yutika Kharra, a student of class V-C, delivered a speech invoking Goddess Saraswati for seeking knowledge and wisdom. She stated the mythological significance of the day and the relevance of celebrating this festival. Students of class 2nd worshipped Goddess Saraswati to get enlightened with knowledge and to get rid of ignorance. Through their dance performance, they welcomed the spring season by expressing their heartfelt emotions.  All the students were beautifully dressed in yellow attires.
