The Hiroshima and Nagasaki Memorial Day was observed virtually at Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School with its message of “Peace” to mark the tragedy of the fatal bombing in 1945.
Shrestha Ambastha, of Class XII conveyed the importance of the day that the horrors of nuclear bomb visit no one ever again. May the quarter of a million souls of the city of Hiroshima, who perished, rest in peace and may their deaths not go in vain.
The speaker also stressed that Hiroshima Day is not a day of celebration, it is a day of remembrance. He added that it is our duty to remember these events, to celebrate the spirit of survivors and those who have dedicated themselves to ensuring that such events are never repeated and tar nuclear weapons are never used again. The only way to ensure that these weapons are used is to eliminate them.
He concluded his speech by urging everyone to learn to live, and live peacefully
