The International Day of Families is observed on the 15th of May every year. The day was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 and it aims at fostering equality, bringing a fuller sharing of domestic responsibilities and employment opportunities. This day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues related to families and to increase knowledge of the social, economic, and demographic processes affecting families.

With a vision to imbibe such a value system in students for their families and later for the society, Ramakrishna Senior  Secondary School observed International Family Day by conducting a speech activity through a virtual platform.

Srijan Jaiswal of class 6th delivered a speech notifying that the family is the basic and natural unit of society, which plays a critical role in nurturing and caring for individual family members, from children to youth, men, women, members living with disabilities, and the older generation. They provide material and non-material care and support to their members and are a backbone of intergenerational solidarity and social cohesion.

In her address, she put a lot of emphasis on the fact that the International Day for Families gives us a platform to acknowledge the important role played by Families in society.
