“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.”  The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.

Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School, organized virtual activity on International Literacy Day on 8 September  2021.
Bhoomika Arora, a student of Class XI , delivered a speech on International Literacy Day in her virtual class.

The speaker enlightened the students in a simple and lucid manner emphasizing the importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies and the need for intensified efforts towards more literate societies. The 8th September was proclaimed International Literacy Day by UNESCO in 1966 to remind the international community of literacy.  She further stated that even in the times of global crisis, efforts have been made to find alternative ways to ensure the continuity of learning, including distance learning, often in combination with in-person learning.
She concluded her speech by saying that we should adopt literacy and encourage in every sphere of society to remove the evil of illiteracy from the globe.
