On behalf of Ramakrishna Senior Secondary School, Tarushi Bhandari of Class IX, was given an opportunity to share her views on the  observance of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre Day.

The speaker gave an insight into what led to the brutal massacre of thousands of innocent people who had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh on 13th of April,1919, to celebrate the festival of Baisakhi. General Dyer headed with his troops and fired on them. His firing ceased only after the immunitions ran out.

This day can be marked as a turning point in India’s struggle for Independence. A memorial was set up by the Government of India to commemorate the spirit of Indian revolutionaries and the people who lost their lives in the brutal massacre.

This day stands as a symbol of struggle and sacrifice and continues to instill patriotism amongst the youth. She ended her speech with a wish that one must believe in the theory of Vasudaiv Kutumbakaum should never nurture any kind of aggressive designs at any point of time .
