Eligibility Criteria
Here are the age requirements for admission to Nursery, KG, and Class 1 as per the DoE guidelines:
Nursery (Pre-School):
- Minimum Age: 3 years (as of March 31, 2025)
- Upper Age Limit: Less than 4 years
KG (Pre-Primary):
- Minimum Age: 4 years (as of March 31, 2025)
- Upper Age Limit: Less than 5 years
Class 1:
- Minimum Age: 5 years (as of March 31, 2025)
- Upper Age Limit: Less than 6 years
Age Relaxation:
Parents can request an age relaxation of up to 30 days in the minimum or upper age limits, which is subject to the school head’s approval.
Documents Required for Nursery Admission
Prepare the following documents for smooth registration:
- Birth Certificate: Proof of your child’s age.
- Residence Proof: Utility bills, voter ID, or rent agreement.
- Photographs: Passport-sized photos of the child and parents.
- Aadhaar Card: If applicable, for the child.
Key Guidelines for Admission
- Admission Criteria:
- Schools, including RKS, will publish their admission criteria and point systems on their websites by November 25, 2024.
- Lottery System:
- If there are more applicants than available seats, a draw of lots will be conducted.
- The process will be transparent, recorded, and conducted in the presence of parents.
- Open Seats:
- The process applies only to open seats in private unaided recognised schools.
